The system gained experience. No one in Europe in the spring knew what the coronavirus was, Donchev said.

Regarding support measures, he noted that all systems are being reconfigured to operate at other speeds, which has taken time.

Regarding European money amounting to 29 billion, Donchev said that very serious negotiations are taking place in the last two months with the EC. The main focus is on people, including economic development.
The plan must help us deal with the consequences of the crisis. This is a unique opportunity. Our economy must become very bold and digital, he said.

“The forms of support are radically different, in which the State has invested money so far in the crisis. In the spring it was an account of the European programs. Now the whole system had to readjust and run at other speeds. The first money managed to arrive in May in two months, now we hope to be faster, ”said Donchev.

A political force should participate in elections only with the intention of governing, Donchev said when asked if the GERB is preparing to govern after the elections.

The deputy prime minister also commented on the protests in recent months, explaining that there was a “clear and brilliant clash between the state and the interests of the party” in the government.

For us, if we look at the interest of the party, it was much more profitable to resign in the summer. It is a fact that the stay in the Council of Ministers since the summer brings political damage, added Donchev.

When asked where he could be seen in a year, the deputy prime minister said he hoped to be alive and well in the first place. One of my great wishes is to travel the entire Kom-Emine route, which takes 21 days and I still cannot find them, Donchev admitted.
