The BSP’s EB differs from the actions of the mayor of Pernik Stanislav Vladimirov, reported the party’s press center.

The Executive Bureau of the BSP differs from the decision to close the Municipal Drama Theater and the ensembles of the Palace of Culture in Pernik – Chamber Orchestra, Music Band and National Orchestra.

Culture as a social responsibility has always been a priority of the socialists in Bulgaria. This is enshrined in a number of fundamental principles of our party and in the policies applied so far. Building can be a slow and difficult task, it takes years; Destroying is a reckless act that only takes one day.

It is unthinkable and unacceptable in the municipality of Pernik, where the BSP won the last local elections, even to discuss the closure of the municipal cultural institutions, which have been part of the cultural history of the city for more than a century.

The EB of the BSP National Assembly qualifies as unacceptable the publicly expressed insulting attitude of the mayor of Pernik towards cultural figures and insists the leadership of the municipality of Pernik to reconsider its decision on the closure of cultural institutions and the reduction of its employees .

The position was adopted after numerous reactions from cultural personalities across the country.

The position was adopted on December 18, 2020 by the BSP’s JE unanimously.
