Our approach to Bulgarian patients is not selective, you may find it strange what is happening to us. There were many calls, including from doctors and colleagues, directors of medical institutions, who said there was a problem at Vidin hospital, Health Minister Prof. Kostadin Angelov commented at the extraordinary briefing.
We remind you that the leader of the BOEC civil association Georgi Georgiev and his wife Mariela were in serious condition in Vidin hospital, but after the media coverage of the case they were transferred to a hospital in Sofia.
“Yes, the prime minister called me, the prime minister was called by Dushana Zdravkova. He told me to check what the medical situation was and if these two patients could be treated at Vidin hospital; to do everything necessary, we do not send ambulances just for these patients. We are not looking for fame, we have become medically close, “added Prof. Angelov.
“We reviewed, we talked to colleagues. This patient had low enough saturation and respiratory failure, and the other was transplanted. Therefore, they had to be transferred to hospitals where they could be adequately cared for. We did not selectively approach or be guided by any advertisement in the media ”, commented the Minister of Health.
