Panyo Mangarov, accused of kidnapping and rape, has pleaded not guilty. Today he appeared in court once again, reports “Traffic”.
During the pre-trial hearing, he refused to admit all the facts and circumstances of the prosecution. Therefore, the process will begin with the questioning of all witnesses and experts.
According to the prosecution, the 45-year-old man, nicknamed the Czech, kidnapped and raped a young woman.
The businessman met her on social networks. He insisted that the two meet, but she refused. To stop bothering her, the woman agreed to talk to him for a few minutes.
On the previous date, after she got into her car in Plovdiv to speak, he made his way to Sofia.
On the way he threatened the woman with an ax, and when they arrived at his house in Sofia, he raped her, forcing her to do so with a threat. To build an “alibi” for Mangarov, in places where he knew there were video cameras, he ordered the woman to be friendly with him.
The case has already been marked by a false start, after the accusation was returned to the prosecution for the elimination of procedural violations.
His lawyer, Ilian Vassilev, demanded that the case be dropped and transferred to the court where the crime was committed, namely in Sofia.
However, the court cut off his aspirations. His request to reduce his bail of BGN 10,000 was also rejected.
The process will take place behind closed doors. The reason: the representative of the injured woman pointed to the fact that details of the personal life of the Plovdiv woman will be revealed.
