A 104-year-old doctor secretly fertilized patients for 40 years and became the father of hundreds of children, writes The Sun. Philip Peven of Detroit, Michigan, worked as a family physician and degenerated the children of more than 9,000 women. However, it turned out that he was a regular sperm donor for his clients who wanted to get pregnant. Last year, one of his biological daughters, Jamie Hall, decided to search for her father and did a DNA test. This is how he found out that his father was exactly Peven.
Thanks to a specialized site, he found his blood brothers and sisters. “We were all born in the same hospital and Dr. Peven is listed on our birth certificates as an obstetrician and gynecologist, not a father,” said Hall, 61. He began contacting all the potential relatives he found on the site. In January 2020, Hall met with one of his half sisters and decided to meet Peven. The retired doctor explained that he had indeed used his own material to fertilize his patients. Sometimes his colleagues also became donors. Peven describes himself as a pioneer in artificial insemination, having been a sperm donor since 1947.
“I don’t see anything wrong with that. All these women, including our mothers, came to him desperately and he gave them what they needed,” says Hall.
