Florian Scala, the CEO of BTV Media Group, is leaving the company and our country, BTV announced.
Czech Martin Schwehlak has been appointed in his place and the changes take effect today.
Skala left voluntarily, announcing her intention to the new owners of BTV in October.

Schwehlak takes on the role of CEO with exceptional and in-depth knowledge in a variety of media areas, as well as managerial experience spanning television, print, and the Internet and digital platforms. In his new role, he will report directly to Lyubosh Yetmar, CEO of CME Bulgaria.
“2020 was full of challenges for the entire media industry as well as for bTV. The company was in the process of being acquired for most of the year and, in combination with the COVID-19 pandemic, it is not surprising that it lose some of the energy. My intention is to inject new energy into our content and program and modernize our digital distribution so that the Bulgarian audience gets the best experience, “said the newly appointed CEO of BTV Media Group Group, Martin Schwehlak.
“After taking over the company in October, I identified several topics and initiatives to which PPF can add value. Martin will focus on modernizing our content, program, formats and digital channels and I am confident that we will be able to address all other ideas and strengthen our position, ”said Lubos Yetmar on the occasion of the new appointment.

Schwechlak has served as CEO since leaving Florian Scala in November 2020. Since 1993, Schwechlak has worked in print, radio, digital and television media in the Czech Republic and has held various positions, from editor to editor-in-chief and senior. Management roles.
Schwehlak was the head of news for TV Nova in the Czech Republic from 2013 to 2018, and under his leadership, television maintained its position as the most respected and viewed television news source. He has also been a member of the CME International News Commission and has worked with all CME structures on editorial coverage, content, and programming initiatives.
To fulfill his new duties, Schwechlak will travel from Prague, but he intends to spend more time in Sofia than in his hometown of Prague.
