A famous coach from the Balkans has died after the complications of Covid-19

The famous Croatian coach Otto Baric has passed away at the age of 87. His death was due to complications caused by the coronavirus.

Baric was born in 1933 and is a teenager at Dinamo (Zagreb). As a footballer he also played for Metalac and Lokomotiva (Zagreb). His coaching career began in 1963, working in several famous clubs: LASK Linz, Sturm (Graz), Rapid (Vienna), Stuttgart, Casino (Salzburg) and Fenerbahce.

Between 1999 and 2001, Baric managed the Austrian team and later managed Croatia. His last commitment was as a coach in the Albanian national team between 2006 and 2007.

Otto Baric’s successes include 8 Austrian titles, 5 cups and 2 Super Cups. With Rapid he reached the KNK final in 1995, and with Casino (Salzburg) the final of the UEFA Cup in 1994. In his homeland, the famous specialist is champion and cup winner with Dinamo (Zagreb) in 1997, and with Stuttgart he has a German Cup final in 1986.
