In the new edition of the Technical Guide for the Prevention and Control of Airborne Pandemics, the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) recommends that air personnel, flight attendants and the rest of the crew wear diapers to avoid going to the bathroom .
This will reduce the risk of coronavirus infection in the confined space.
“It is recommended that the cabin crew wear disposable diapers and avoid using the lavatory to avoid risks,” said the CAAC protocol.
In addition to diapers, attendants and the rest of the crew must be equipped with an approved mask, double-layered gloves, goggles, disposable hat, disposable protective suit and shoe covers.
The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has already warned about the danger of infection in airplane bathrooms after a 28-year-old woman was infected with coronavirus in an airplane bathroom in last august.
