Six people were injured after a car crashed into a protest in Manhattan, the Associated Press reported, citing the New York Police Department.
According to eyewitnesses, the procession passed through the intersection of Thirty-ninth Street and Third Avenue when the car passed through it. Six people were taken to local hospitals and their injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.

The driver, a woman, was detained and questioned by the police.

The protest began in Times Square and was intended to draw attention to the ongoing hunger strike by immigrants detained in a New Jersey prison.
