Emil Yotovski is a doctor. He is also a writer, including storyteller, playwright, and screenwriter. The author is at novini.bg. These are their valuable tips to follow if we become infected with COVID-19. The text was published on his Facebook profile.

Yes. A person gets sick. And it is not his fault.

As a doctor, I have never come across the thesis that a sick person is guilty. This is a disgusting political model from last year to divert attention from problems and scams, even in healthcare.

First, stay calm: a panic attack also causes tightness in the chest.

Second, the disease does not have a clear linear course. The symptoms of covid are many and varied.

That is, it is difficult to distinguish the phases: initiation, development, peak and healing. Heavier and lighter episodes alternate. This is confusing.

With a low-key start, the infected person has a hard time judging when they have been ill. It often happens that if today there are some symptoms, tomorrow you wake up with others. The situation is like an elevator: one day, well, the next, bad.

Don’t wait for a fever and cough to suspect a covid. Many patients do not have a fever. Onset may be headache, loss of sense of smell or discomfort, and joint and / or muscle pain. Be more careful if you have gastrointestinal symptoms. They are an indication that you may have the disease more seriously.

The cough can vary from very pronounced to almost inconspicuous or absent.

Forget blood antigen testing. If you get sick recently, they won’t show anything.

The rapid antigen test does not detect immediately. I did two. The first of the fourth day was negative, the second of the sixth was positive. I repeat that this is a bit relative with the days, because my symptoms started very discreetly and I could not differentiate the exact beginning.

The PCR test is the most indicative, but it costs a hundred levs. Imagine a pensioner with a pension of 250 BGN who has to give this money for a test. And the drugs? And the food? And the bills? And life in general?

Regardless of the severity of your symptoms, sharpen your attention for 5-8 days. Then shortness of breath and / or chest pain may occur. Severe fatigue or disorientation. These are alarming symptoms and they act quickly; Call a doctor. It is better to argue with one or the other dispatcher than to miss the opportunity to receive proper treatment.

If work goes to the hospital, don’t lose courage. The hospital is the place where they have funds that you don’t have at home. Don’t succumb to panic and pessimism. A large percentage of those admitted to the hospital recover.

Otherwise, drink your vitamins. Vitamins do not cure covid, but they are the foundation that your immune system needs to fight it. In a figurative sense, vitamins are like ammunition in a war.

You have to make sure you don’t run out of ammo.

Don’t run into antibiotics. This is a mistake. There is a scheme in which it is considered appropriate to cover critical days with an antibiotic. These are 5-8. But this necessarily, necessarily, necessarily discuss with a doctor.

Be strict on medication, rest and don’t despair! This is NOT a particularly dangerous infection. Even the WHO lobbyist dares not claim it, although he will.

And very importantly, there is no news. Stop your TV and Facebook. The moment you get sick, you will realize the darkness of the native media environment. If you don’t want to feel helpless and doomed as a nudist at the epicenter of a nuclear explosion, turn off the news. You don’t have to go crazy.

And last but not least, if you do come across a covid, quick recovery! You are 99% sure.
