The researchers analyzed the symptoms of children with COVID-19 and their inflammatory syndrome and concluded that 83% of the study participants had mucocutaneous (mucous skin) changes such as swollen and red eyes, reddened cheeks and palms, and so-called “strawberry tongue” – swollen, rough and red.
