Just a year and a half after the Domuschiev brothers joined Nova TV, the media group is about to change hands again. The deal is about to be signed and through it United Group, which bought the largest telecom BTC months ago, will take over television. This created the second largest media and telecom group on the market, Telenor Bulgaria’s owner, Czech PPF, acquired bTV in October. The Commission for the Protection of Competition should also announce soon that it is considering the deal.
Generous offer
According to Capital, negotiations with the United Group take months, and some time ago the media group submitted a binding offer. There were no other candidates. The exact price of the operation is not yet clear, but according to market sources, it starts at 250 million euros, but could reach 300 million, depending on the achievement of certain indicators in the coming years. This is significantly higher than the price that the Domuschiev agreed by Nova Broadcasting Group almost two years ago with the Swedish MTG: 185 million euros.
