Theaters, cinemas and museums will not open on December 15 as planned, as cases of infection are not decreasing, as authorities expected, French Prime Minister Jean Castex said.
The government had announced that the order to keep people at home, imposed at the end of October, would be revoked on December 15, when museums, theaters and cinemas would open. But the condition for this was that the cases of infection were reduced to about 5,000 per day.
However, France now reports over 11,000 cases a day.
As of December 15, an evening schedule will be introduced, which will be from 8:00 p.m., and not from 9:00 p.m. as planned. Castex clarified that this time will be in effect for December 31. And in the mornings it will run until 6. The afternoon time, however, will not apply for Christmas Eve.
