Atanas Tasev was born on October 26, 1945 in Svilengrad. He graduated in “Automation and Telemechanics” from the Kiev Polytechnic Institute.

He was a member of the interdepartmental advisory council of the Council of Ministers for the construction of the Belene NPP and of the project management group, of which he was a strong supporter.

He was chief expert of the Energy Committee in the 40th and 42nd National Assembly, as well as municipal councilor of the NMSS in the Sofia City Council. He was declared an “Honorary Citizen” of Sofia.
