Skopje described the Bulgarian veto as an irresponsible geostrategic mistake. This is stated in a statement from the Macedonian government.

The Government of North Macedonia, as outlined below, will not allow internal reforms to stall. On the contrary, emphasizes the cabinet, we will accelerate the pace and increase the advantage in the democratic reforms that we have in the region.
