The Blagoevgrad District Prosecutor’s Office has brought an indictment against PK for crimes committed by him under art. 311, para. 1 and pursuant to art. 294, para. 4, supra para. 1 of the Penal Code, we found out from the press center of the state prosecutor’s office.

The defendant PK Was appointed to serve in the Ministry of the Interior in 2002, where until 2018 he held the positions of border police, police officer in the group “Protection of public order”, junior district inspector in the sector “Security Police “at the Blagoevgrad police station.

In 2016, in the course of his service, the defendant learned of a file related to a request from the National Revenue Agency to the police authorities to help establish the whereabouts of MK – Manager of the company “DPI-E” Ltd An examination of the establishment of facts and circumstances in relation to the data declared and the VAT accrued was resolved against your company.

Although the file in question was distributed to his colleague, defendant K. read the material it contained and took the documents received from the NRA. Subsequently, he took actions that created difficulties to establish and prove violations of the tax legislation administered by MK company, respectively, initiation of criminal proceedings. Although he knew the whereabouts of the woman, he promised to evade her from the tax audit. To this end, she drew up a memorandum stating that she had gone to live and work abroad, which did not correspond to the objective truth. With his actions, he drafted an official document, presented to the tax authority, in which he reflected incorrect circumstances. Furthermore, he did not report on the meeting with MK and personally warned him of a possible inspection.


Many crimes were committed against the defendant K., including the possession and use of narcotics. Although obligated, he did not fulfill his duties or report any act. It also helped thwart and avoid criminal proceedings.

On the night of November 7, 2017, in a restaurant in the town of Blagoevgrad, a dispute arose between the companies located there, in which AS was beaten and threatened. There were witnesses that the perpetrator was AG, a figure from the criminal contingent active in the region. The victim reported the incident to 112. The man told the police officers sent to the scene that he intended to file a complaint for the criminal intrusions. The incident was registered with the District Police Department and the investigation was assigned to PK

In order to thwart the criminal process against the author of the beating – AG, and to keep him unpunished, the accused took a series of actions to cover up his criminal acts. He visited the home, telephoned the victim and persuaded him and his family members to write an explanation for the lack of complaints in the case and subsequently withdraw the complaint. However, the defendant’s attempts not to investigate and prosecute the incident were unsuccessful.

The court is about to schedule a preliminary hearing on the case.
