“Sociology shows that the next parliament will be very broken and it will be difficult to form a government. Could we, if we are in the shoes of who decides when the elections should be held, judge what is their interest, the elections at the beginning or the future ones? My opinion is that the beginning is chosen when there is the hypothesis that the probability that a government cannot be formed is very high in their opinion ”.

This was announced by the political psychologist Prof. Antoaneta Hristova in a television interview on the occasion of the date announced by the president for the parliamentary elections in March 2021.

According to her, behind the actions of the head of state is his desire to form a cabinet that will remain in power until 2022.

“There will be a long process to govern an interim government if it cannot be formed after the next vote. For example, in the May-January period. That is, in this period the president assumes that it will be handed over to an interim government to prepare the upcoming elections, both presidential and parliamentary, ”argued Hristova.

Associate Professor Tatiana Burudjieva, for her part, commented that the situation with the coronavirus will change the way we decide who to vote for. The winner will be the one who presents the best lists and adaptation to the situation, according to her. All kinds of hypotheses are possible, Burudjieva stressed. She advises to look at the mistakes and the organization of the elections in Romania, which took place.

An important question is how election commissions will prepare in a pandemic situation. According to her, the strategy to get on Borisov in the campaign is not profitable. I would not underestimate Mr. Borisov, Burudjieva added.
