Heavy snowfall in parts of Bulgaria (VIDEO + PHOTOS)

There is a yellow code in effect in many areas.

Heavy snow will fall in the mountains in the next few hours. In the massifs of the southwest, the western and central parts of Stara Planina, rainfall will be the most intense. Snow will also fall in the Fore-Balkans. In many places on the Danube plain, the rains will turn to snow. In the hours until midnight it will rain more, then gradually from the southwest it will begin to slow down and stop. Tomorrow in the early afternoon the rains of both rain and snow will cease. A yellow code for snowfall is in effect in many areas.

Beginning of the week with wind and rain

The snow cover, according to the European forecast model, is about 5 centimeters in most low-lying areas, up to 10-15 cm in the northwest and more than 20 in higher altitudes. Due to the wind, winds are possible along the mountain passes in the west and center of Stara Planina (mainly Beklemeto and Petrohan), and in southwestern Bulgaria (the Predela, Prevala, Pamporovo and Rozhen passes).
