Hundreds of people joined the 150th consecutive protest in Sofia demanding the resignation of the government and Chief Prosecutor Ivan Geshev. The protesters threw rotten pumpkins at the government building.
They explained that action symbolizes governance.
“This is the pig food that the workers in this building deserve.” explained one of the protesters.
One of the mothers of “El Sistema Nos Mata” crossed the police cordon and placed the black flag at the initiative of the Council of Ministers building.
The protesters left their traditional venue, the square in front of the Council of Ministers, and then continued down Tsar Osvoboditel Boulevard.
Within hours, protesters blocked some of the intersections in Sofia and stopped in front of the courthouse and the National Palace of Culture.
In front of the GERB building, the discontents tried to reach the party headquarters and leave the black flags.
Among the organizers were the mothers of System Kills Us, BOEC and several supporters of the Justice for All Initiative.
The protesters told BNR that they want a better and fairer future.
“The protest played its role because it was our goal: to show the true face of power. I think we succeeded. We have shown that we will not reconcile, we will continue to protest, we want change, no, as everyone says, replacement.”commented those present at the demonstration.
