Nova Zagora mourns for 35-year-old police officer Todor Todorov, who died in the line of duty. He was buried today and his colleagues are still in shock.

We remind you that around 8:30 p.m. on December 2, he and his colleague responded to an accident signal. The Nova Zagora inspector inspected the site near the town of Radevo.
He was in a police car with the lights on and a thoughtful resident, but Georgi Kostadinov, 39, of Stara Zagora, who was driving his old BMW 318 drunk at high speed, did not see him at all.
He collided with the BMW and collided head-on with the company car. Todor Todorov was right behind the patrol and received the blow with his body. He received very serious injuries incompatible with life.

As BLIC reported, the Sliven District Court issued a permanent restraining measure “detention in custody” against 39-year-old driver Georgi Kostadinov. He is accused of causing the death of a police officer while intoxicated and recklessly.

The official defender of the Stara Zagora driver, attorney Elena Dimitrova, commented that her client regretted the tragic incident.
