A policeman died while doing his duty: he was hit on the spot by a drunk driver.
The incident happened last night in Novozagorsko.
On the night of December 2, a police patrol received a signal of an accident near the town of Sokol in Novozagorsk and left. They saw a car overturned on the spot, the two people in it were not injured.
However, while the uniformed men were inspecting, a passing car collided with the patrol.

“Another vehicle collided with them, colliding head-on with the company car. Our colleague Todor Todorov was right behind the car and took the blow with his body seriously. He received very serious injuries and then died,” said Krassimir Alexiev, Chief of the Security Police Department of the Nova Zagora Police Department.
The driver’s drug test, which crushed the cop, found 0.68 per thousand of alcohol in the blood. He was detained first for 24 hours, then for 72 hours.

“The tragic loss of our colleague is another reminder that each of us must realize the need for a new attitude and culture in road traffic. Because road safety is a shared responsibility,” the ministry said.
The mayor of the town of Sokol wants help from the highway agency due to the fatal road. In just one year, the incidents were more than 15.
The arrested driver is a criminal. He could face up to 15 years in prison if proven guilty of reckless manslaughter.
