A policeman died last night in an accident near Nova Zagora. The patrol, next to which the uniformed officer was, was hit by another car driven by a driver with a positive alcohol test.

The serious incident in which the 35-year-old Nova Zagora police officer died occurred around 9:00 p.m. on December 2.
“The colleagues are going to report an accident. They visit him and once the work is finished, this serious incident occurs. Another vehicle collided with them, colliding head-on with the company car. Our colleague Todor Todorov was right behind the car and he was hit with the body. He received very serious injuries and later died, “explained Krassimir Alexiev, head of the Security Police in Nova Zagora.
A 39-year-old driver who had consumed alcohol was run over in a company car, which had an alarm on. The man has been arrested. He could receive an effective sentence of “prison” for 15 years.
“We lost a human life and an excellent employee, whom we trust very much in our work,” added Alexiev. Colleagues of the deceased police officers take the loss very seriously.

The prosecution recalls that more than six months ago they sent expert proposals to the National Assembly to change the legislation. Its adoption would speed up the sanction of drivers who consume alcohol and / or drugs.
