Increasingly removed from reality, US President Donald Trump delivered a 46-minute speech from the White House, in which he once again unjustifiably claimed that he had won the election in early November, US media reported.
Trump said his speech, which was broadcast only on social media, was “the most important speech” of his tenure, though he largely repeated his unproven allegations and continued the line of misinformation. Trump believes there was electoral fraud in the vote, but no evidence was presented.
Even high-ranking members of the Republican Party confirmed that there were no voting irregularities and called on Trump not to undermine confidence in the electoral process. And while winner Joe Biden has already chosen a team and is preparing to take office next month, Trump continues to make false claims that he actually won the election.
Democrat Joe Biden received a record 81 million votes, compared to 74 million for Donald Trump. The Democrat also won 306 electoral votes to Trump’s 232. Current President Trump said in his lengthy speech that he had triumphed in key states where he had in fact lost the vote. After re-counting the ballots in some areas, it even turned out that Biden won more votes than originally announced.
