There is no delay for the launch of the last 4 stations of the third metro line in “Ovcha Kupel”. The deadline is March 31st. This was declared to “24 Chasa” by the head of the “Metropolitan” EAD Stoyan Bratoev.
“The tests of the route in this section began on July 1. The term of the contract with Siemens is 9 months. It expires at the end of March 2021. In other words, at this stage we cannot speak of a delay in the launch of the section ”, explained Prof. Bratoev.
He clarified that there are 3 letters from Siemens that due to the pandemic and because they have sick employees, they work with limited resources.
“However, people work and arrive on time,” added Professor Bratoev.
However, on December 12 and 13, the eight stations of the third metro line connecting Krasno Selo with Vl. Vazov Blvd. will be closed.
The reason is that the automation of the eight stations must be connected with the four in Ovcha Kupel.
“The trains will work, but they will be without passengers, because they have to stop, leave, move more slowly and there is no way to follow a schedule. All these procedures are filmed and then sent for software certification in” Germany. These activities take more time, so we have to close the third line. This will happen during the weekend, when there are generally fewer passengers on the subway, “Bratoev said.
