Hungarian MEP Jozef Sayer admitted today that his resignation is related to the violation of quarantine rules in Brussels, AP reported.
Sayer, a representative of Hungary’s ruling Fidesz party who resigned from the European Parliament on Sunday, admitted to participating in a banned party under quarantine in Belgium.
However, the Hungarian politician did not comment on the information about the character of the party that appeared in the Belgian media. He revealed that the police gave him a verbal warning and took him home.
Belgian media reported that it was a gay party in which 25 people participated, as a FIDES MEP tried to escape from the place where the party took place, but was detained by the police.
Belgian newspaper Het Latste Nius did not name the MEP, but noted that he resigned on Sunday when Sayer did.
