Scottish Prime Minister Nicolas Sturgeon today announced her intention to quickly organize a second referendum on Scottish independence if her Scottish National Party wins the Scottish Parliament elections next May, BTA said, citing AFP.
“Next May, we will ask the Scottish people to vote for us so that we can build a better country,” Nicolas Sturgeon said at the party’s annual congress.
“I will ask for your support for a referendum on Scottish independence as soon as the new parliament takes office,” Sturgeon said.
In 2014, a referendum on Scottish independence was already held, in which 55 percent of Scots voted to remain in the United Kingdom, recalls AFP.
