After a referral from the VAP, the Interior Ministry found 68 violations of drivers with motorized vehicles, making noise above the permissible level, announced the Prosecutor’s Office.
In accordance with its constitutionally enshrined powers to monitor compliance with the law and on the occasion of a signal to prevent the harmful effects of the high decibels of motor vehicles with noise amplifying devices, the Supreme Administrative Prosecutor’s Office (VAP) hired the Minister Interior for an inspection. in accordance with its control powers, providing protection against noise emitted by road vehicles into the environment.
The purpose of the referral by the VAP to the competent authorities that carried out the inspection is to comply with the provisions of the Law on Protection against Environmental Noise, creating healthy living conditions for the population and protecting the environment from harmful noise.
Following the remission of the VAP, the Ministry of the Interior carried out specialized police operations carried out in the period from 23.10.2020 to 28.10.2020 in the territory of the country. The main focus of the inspection was motor vehicles with defective or missing silencers, as well as additionally installed noise canceling devices.
In 5 days, a total of 28,444 motor vehicles were inspected, 68 violations were found for the purpose of the inspection and 41 orders were issued for the application of an administrative coercive measure.
