German prosecutors say there is evidence of “cannibalism” in the murder of a 44-year-old man whose remains were found in north Berlin this month, AP reported.
A 41-year-old man was arrested yesterday on suspicion of premeditated murder with sexual motives. He was arrested at his home near the place where the victim’s remains were found, writes Novini.bg. According to the Berlin prosecutor’s office, “the suspect was interested in cannibalism” and searched the Internet for information on the subject.
A spokesman for the prosecution said it was unclear whether the victim was also interested in cannibalism. According to him, the two men, Germans, have contacted each other over the Internet. Their names were not revealed. In 2006, a man in Germany was sentenced to life in prison for killing and eating another person he met online.
