The Secretary of State announced that a manual recount and audit of all ballots sent to the southern state determined that Joe Biden was the winner. According to the official results published on the site, Biden won the presidential race in the state with 12,670 votes. The Democrat received a total of 2,474,507 votes, while Republican Donald Trump voted 2,461,837.
This is yet another blow to President Donald Trump’s desperate efforts to reverse the results of the November 3 election, Reuters reports. Georgia has been a Republican stronghold for many years. Joe Biden received 306 electoral votes, while Trump, 232. Officially, the Democrat will take office in January 2021.
