According to our church calendar, the holiday falls during the Christmas fasting period. On this day, believers receive Holy Communion and with it new forces for spiritual growth and the fight against evil, in themselves and in the world.
We celebrate the Day of the Christian Family
According to Orthodox tradition, on this day his parents brought Mary, the future Mother of God, 3 years old into the temple. Therefore, it is believed that on this day the whole family should enter the temple and pay homage to all Christian virtues.
By decision of the Holy Synod in 1929, this holiday is celebrated as the Day of the Christian Family and Orthodox Youth.
