During the military conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh against Azerbaijan, the Armenian armed forces used the modern Russian “Iskander” tactical-operational missile system. This was stated by the former head of the military control service of the Republican Defense Ministry Movses Hakobyan, reports RIA Novosti.

“It has been used, but I cannot say in which direction,” he said at a briefing. The Iskander system is known as SS-26 in NATO countries.

On November 9, the leaders of Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan adopted a joint ceasefire declaration in Nagorno-Karabakh on November 10. Russian peacekeepers were dispatched to the Karabakh region.

Armenian citizens saw the signing of the agreement as a national capitulation, in connection with which protests were held in Yerevan demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
