Minister Kralev: I cannot be satisfied with Dermendzhiev, the results do not correspond to reality

The Minister of Youth and Sports, Krasen Kralev, called Georgi Dermendzhiev’s selection in the Bulgarian national team controversial. The sports chief stressed that the representative personnel of our country have a problem with managerial interests.

“Our football has been in an unenviable state for a long time. Not only have we not qualified for a big championship since 2004. This is the most important period in which Bulgaria is absent from the important forums. A very long process that shows that mistakes are were allowed for a long time.

If we talk about last year, I think this is not the real state of the national team. I cannot be satisfied with Georgi Dermendzhiev. Their selection is controversial. His understanding differs from that of the football community.

The youth team has more than 20 people prepared for men’s football. Once a small number of them find a place on the men’s team, it is indicative.

I do not agree that the results correspond to reality. The choice of staff shows that there is a problem with the interests of the management.

The health recommendations were to postpone Congress. There are objective prerequisites. It is not fatal that the Congress is held two months before or after. The problem is that there are no candidates. I want to see a clash of ideas and concepts. I want to see people with a vision of soccer.

I am a minister and I intend to fulfill my duties. In the elections, I believe that the people will appreciate what we are doing and we will congratulate ourselves on the victory. We will fully comply with the considerations of the health authorities. The public ban continues. We were one of the countries that allowed spectators to enter stadiums. For the second time, we are stopping public access to the stadiums, which means that there are people who did not appreciate the gesture we made for them.

It is clearly indicated that a match is postponed if there are 10 positives in a team. No concessions will be made with anyone. I ask the Bulgarian Football Union and each federation to follow its rules. That there is fair play and that all clubs are on an equal footing. The case has been brought against the Bulgarian Football Union. They dispute this amount. I can’t say what phase it is in. For the CSKA stadium we have done everything necessary and required by the Ministry. Hope to see club action soon.

Levski Stadium is not our property. There is no way for the Ministry and the State to allocate funds to a company when it comes to state aid.
