We are second in the EU in terms of backyard toilets

According to this indicator, Bulgaria ranks second in the European Union, we are ahead of our northern neighbors, the Romanians. 24.2% of Romanians have an open-air toilet. In third and fourth place are Lithuania and Latvia with 10% and 8.7% respectively. At the other pole is Sweden, where each property is equipped with an indoor bathroom, followed by Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands and Slovenia, where this figure is 0.1%. In the EU as a whole, 2% of the population do not have a bathroom at home. The data was published on the eve of November 19, when World Toilet Day is celebrated. It was started by the United Nations to raise awareness among people around the world on hygiene and sewerage issues.
