The Bulgarian youth team won their last match of the qualifying qualifying rounds for Euro 2021 without a problem.
Alexander Dimitrov’s team prevailed over Estonia’s eleven with 3: 0, but this turned out to be irrelevant to our final classification in the group.
Our team missed their big opportunity when they visited Poland, when they beat the hosts, but they lost the victory. The 1: 1 draw in Gdynia left our team in third place in the group, two points behind the Poles.
Tonight Poland won 3: 1 against Latvia and finished in the coveted second place in the table.
The young “lions” had to win and at the same time wait for a mistake from Poland against the total outsider Latvia, which unfortunately did not happen.
Unfortunately, the Bulgarian manager had a lot of problems on the eve of the match. As many as 13 players left the group, including regular starters Petko Hristov, Valentin Antov, Ivan Turitsov, Dominik Yankov and Angel Lyaskov.

Bulgaria U21 – Estonia U21 3: 0
Lions will expect a false move from Poland
The first part passed with the total domination of the “lions”, who did not leave a meter of space for the action of their opponents.
The Bulgarian footballers looked with the class above those of the blue teams and did their best to find the result at the Slavia Stadium.
The actions of Iliev and Chandarov threatened the Estonian goalkeeper, but attempts to overtake the defense with the center were unsuccessful.
Our team’s tactics changed on the fly, as the ball dropped to the ground and the “tricolor” tried a different approach, with direct passes in the middle of the field.
In the 28th minute, Kotev uncovered himself, looked around and decided he had to shoot, even though he was more than 25 meters from the rival goal. The final effect: a bomb blast that left the Estonian guard no chance and the result was discovered.
Just one attack later, a new high-speed action from the Bulgarian team ended with a double pass between Iliev Jr. and Ertan Tombak, as the latter, from close range, scored the 2: 0.
Krastev’s new attempt to hit the target, shortly before the break, was unsuccessful and the result was maintained before the break.
In the second half, the pace dropped dramatically. This was due in large part to what was happening in the other party in the group.
With each new goal for Poland against Latvia, our national team seemed more and more disappointed on the field and this, to a large extent, was understandable.
The Estonians made several changes to their line-up, giving the newcomers a chance and thus delaying and depersonalizing the match at Slavia Stadium.
The final 3-0 was formed by Krastev, who intercepted a Dimitrov cross from a corner 2 minutes before the end of regulation time.
Therefore, unfortunately, our team remains in third place in the final ranking and is out of the accounts for the European soccer finals.
