The office of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has submitted a proposal to the country’s parliament to the deployment of Turkish troops in Azerbaijan, reports the Anatolian Agency.
Parliament is expected to consider the issue in the coming days.

The reported events come after Erdogan said last week that Moscow and Ankara had signed a memorandum establishing a ceasefire control center in Nagorno-Karabakh.

Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan earlier adopted a joint ceasefire declaration in Nagorno-Karabakh, where heavy fighting has raged since late September, killing at least 2,300 Armenian military personnel. Azerbaijan has not yet disclosed its military losses in the fighting.
According to the document, the total truce will take effect on November 10. Under the agreement, Russia will send a peacekeeping contingent to Nagorno-Karabakh, consisting of 1,960 soldiers, 90 armored personnel carriers and 380 teams.
The decades-long conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh escalated once again on September 27, with Armenia and Azerbaijan blaming each other for launching military action along the lines of contact. The conflict began at the end of the Soviet era with the attempt of the autonomous territory, populated mainly by Armenians, to break with the control of Baku.
