Hours after tens of thousands of supporters of President Donald Trump demonstrated their support for the head of state in Washington and protested against what they said were stolen elections, clashes broke out between them and the counter-protesters. Records uploaded to social media show that after night fell, violence broke out in the streets: a fist fight, sticks were used and the main characters on both sides were the so-called Proud Boys (“Proud Boys”, supporters Trump) and representatives of the Antifa movement.

The Washington Post reported on a man who was stabbed.
In the early afternoon, the police reported at least ten arrests, four of them for possession of a weapon.
Early reports were that yesterday’s protests were generally peaceful, with the exception of isolated instances of violence in a clash between Trump-backed protesters and counter-protesters.
The main event was the Millions March on Washington. Dozens and, according to supporters of the president, hundreds of thousands participated in it. The march ran under the Trump family motto “Make America Great Again” and the chanted votes of “Stop Stealing.” Officials involved in presidential elections across the country said there was no evidence of serious violations, but Trump refused to acknowledge the results, which point to a victory for his rival, Joe Biden. According to estimates by Edison Research, Biden has 306 votes in the Electoral College and Trump 232. It takes 270 to win the election. Biden also leads the popular vote with a difference of more than 5.5 million votes or 3.6 percent.
The action of Trump supporters was peaceful, but left-wing groups, including the Antifa movement, organized small counter-demonstrations. Near the Supreme Court, some counter-protesters carried black umbrellas and shields made from handmade materials, while others made a makeshift bicycle barrier to prevent Trump supporters from approaching them. The counter-protesters called the president’s supporters “Nazis” and the protesters responded with curses. Reuters reported that its journalists witnessed a dozen fights and several cases of serious opposition, in which the police divided the protesters, but the cases of violence were isolated. A police spokesman told Reuters that ten arrests had been made as of the afternoon, including four for firearms law violations, two for assault and one for assault on a police officer.

There were also marches in support of Trump in Delray Beach, Florida, where several hundred people demonstrated with banners reading “Every Voice Counts” and “We cannot live with a Marxist government.”
In Lansing, Michigan, protesters gathered in front of the Capitol. Speakers at the rally questioned the results, showing that Democratic candidate Joe Biden won the state by more than 140,000 votes.
In Phoenix, Arizona, police say about 1,500 people gathered in front of the local state parliament to protest Biden’s victory by a small margin in the state.
