US President Donald Trump appears to have almost admitted that he will likely have to leave the White House, world agencies reported.
Joe Biden was declared the winner of this month’s election, but Trump refuses to acknowledge his victory. His lawyers have unsuccessfully challenged the results in court.
“This administration will not introduce isolation measures,” Trump said when announcing plans to distribute the newly developed coronavirus vaccine.
“We hope that whatever happens in the future, who knows what the administration will be, I suppose time will tell. But I can tell you that this administration will not introduce isolation measures,” he said.
Trump said that two different coronavirus vaccines could be approved by the end of the year and 20 million doses could be distributed next month. The president added that the vaccines will not be available for New York, where Governor Andrew Cuomo questioned the approval process for the vaccine used by federal authorities and said he wanted a check from local sources.
“So we are not sending it to New York until we get permission to do so,” Trump said.
The president of the United States added that all citizens will be able to be vaccinated in April, Reuters notes.
Biden has already begun the process of handing over power, although the White House refuses to cooperate, recalls DPA. Trump managed to win in the state of North Carolina and this brought him 15 more voters in the Electoral College, the Associated Press reported. His college voter turnout reached 232. Biden defeated Trump in key states of Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin and Arizona, the agency added. With his votes, he received the support of 290 voters in the Electoral College. However, the Associated Press has so far not reported the votes cast in the state of Georgia and has refrained from declaring Biden the winner there while a manual ballot recount is conducted. Followed the machine and started yesterday. It will end on Wednesday. It arose due to the small difference in results between the two candidates and under the provisions of a new local law. If the manual count in Georgia confirms Biden’s victory, which is expected to happen, it will officially bring him a total of 306 votes in the Electoral College. Last night, other major US media, such as CNN and NBC, announced that Biden received the support of 306 members of the Electoral College, who will officially elect the new president. The media reported that Trump has secured the support of 232 voters, AFP reported. The Electoral College has a total of 538 members.
