A complete change with the so-called “Green Corridors” for over 65s. Less than 24 hours after the introduction of the requirement that they shop in stores and pharmacies for only 2 hours a day, the Ministry of Health issued a new order.
According to her, the elderly will have the right to be alone in stores between 1:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., and in pharmacies twice a day, from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. .
All other Bulgarians will be deprived of access to pharmacies during these 5 hours of the day. It will be the same in stores, but for three hours. The Ministry of the Interior is also ready to seriously punish systemic offenders.
The change came after it became clear that restricting older people created more problems than benefits. However, according to health authorities, the measure makes sense. They explained why the changes are necessary, especially for pharmacies.
There was a long discussion about the “green corridors”. The idea is to obtain maximum medical results and comfort for the elderly. We had conversations with representatives of the Business Association. This is the best option. Those over 65 can go to the store. and on other occasions, if they have such a need, ”said Minister Angelov.

He highlighted that the two hour ranges for pharmacies are being introduced due to the different characteristics of adults, since some get up earlier and others go to work.
For violating the order, the Interior Minister also allowed the possibility of imposing fines. “We will first give a verbal warning if they don’t stop, a written protocol and only then, if the person insists so much on breaking the rules, can there be a penalty,” he said.
