Accused of premeditated murder of a man in the village of Portitovtsi was brought before the court District Attorney’s Office – Montana has brought an indictment against VM (at the age of 34), held criminally responsible for a crime committed by him under art. 115 of the Penal Code, denounced by the Prosecutor’s Office.
On the night of March 10, 2020, the defendant VM, together with his relatives, was in a restaurant in the town of Portitovtsi in Montana. When he saw TB, busy doing repair work on his parents’ property, he called him. He voiced his dissatisfaction with the work done, insulted him and declared that he should return the remuneration he had been paid. There was an argument between the two, so the waiter asked them to leave.
Soon after, TB, accompanied by a company, returned to the restaurant area. The accused also arrived with a long sword in his hands. The conflict between the arguing men intensified. VM brandished his weapon and stabbed his opponent in the chest. Witnesses to the incident tried to reassure them, but did not dare to intervene directly. The victim managed to grab the sword from its point and hit the accused on the head with the handle. They both fell to the ground. On TB’s body there was blood.
Witnesses reported the incident to 112 and transported the victim to a hospital in Montana, where the man later died. Meanwhile, VM left the scene.
In the course of the investigation of the serious crime he was prosecuted. The object of the crime, a sword with a plastic handle and a curved blade with a length of 60 cm, was found in an open-air bathroom on a private property in the town. From the conclusion of the forensic examination, it appears that the immediate cause of death from TB is acute blood loss that developed as a result of the abdominal puncture-injury that penetrated the thoracic and abdominal cavities. In addition to the soft tissues, muscles, and costal arch, it affected the diaphragm, stomach, and aorta.
The court is about to schedule a preliminary hearing on the case.
