No Turkish peacekeepers will be sent to Nagorno-Karabakh. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, quoted by TASS.
“No peacekeeping units from the Republic of Turkey will be dispatched to Nagorno-Karabakh. This is clearly stated in the statement by the leaders of Azerbaijan, Armenia and Russia on the total cessation of hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh,” said the first diplomat of the Russian Federation.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov also said that the possibility of Turkish peacekeepers in Nagorno-Karabakh had not been discussed. This would be impossible without the consent of Baku and Yerevan, he stressed. Russian President Vladimir Putin, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev signed an agreement on a complete ceasefire and all military actions in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone.
Armenia has been forced to sign an agreement to end hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh to avoid a military collapse, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said. After the agreement was signed, there were celebrations in Baku, while clashes broke out in Yerevan. Nagorno-Karabakh is an internationally recognized territory as part of Azerbaijan. The Armed Forces of Azerbaijan have recovered a large part of the occupied territories.
