Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said he signed an agreement with the leaders of Russia and Azerbaijan to end hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh, Reuters reported.
Pashinyan noted that in the coming days he will address the Armenian people, reports BTA.
“I have signed declarations with the presidents of Russia and Azerbaijan to end the Karabakh war as of 01:00 (23:00 yesterday Bulgarian time). The text of the declaration, the declaration already published, is inexpressible painful for me personally and for our people. “I made this decision as a result of an in-depth analysis of the military situation and the assessment of people who are familiar with it in the best possible way,” said Pashinyan, TASS reported.
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev also said today that he had signed an agreement to end the military conflict with Armenia over the Nagorno-Karabakh region, adding that Turkey would participate in the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process, Reuters reported.
“The signed tripartite agreement will become a (key) point to resolve the conflict,” Aliyev said in an online meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Aliyev expressed confidence that the agreement reached will bring peace to the region and put an end to opposition and bloodshed, TASS reported.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has said that the armed forces of Armenia and Azerbaijan will focus on their positions.

Russia has sent nearly 2,000 peacekeepers and 470 units of military equipment to Nagorno-Karabakh with Il-76 military transport jets, the Russian Defense Ministry said, TASS reported.
“A peacekeeping contingent of 1,600 Russian military personnel, 90 armored personnel carriers and 380 units of vehicles and special equipment will be deployed to control the ceasefire and hostilities in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone,” said the ministry.
Turkish peacekeepers will also be stationed in the region.
Meanwhile, Yerevan residents protesting against the cessation of hostilities in Karabakh broke into the Armenian government building, TASS reported.
Aggressive protesters break the doors of the building’s offices.
Hundreds of people gathered in the Republic Square in central Yerevan, where the government building is located, after Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said he had signed an agreement to end hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh.
The police did not use force against the protesters and tried to calm them down.
