Mass riots in Harmanli refugee camp – Criminal

The Harmanli District Prosecutor’s Office is overseeing the preliminary proceedings for destruction of and damage to foreign property at the Migrant Reception and Registration Center in Harmanli at the State Agency for Refugees. It was also related to a manifestation of a massive violation of public order, announced the press center of the state prosecutor’s office.

The incident occurred on November 8 at around 6:40 p.m. in the camp territory. A domestic dispute has arisen between two women from a country of Syrian origin. They were in one of the hallways downtown, the prosecution said. After learning of the dispute, some 150 men and women left another building downtown. They began to throw stones and sticks in the direction of the room where the two foreigners were. During his actions, three double-glazed windows and an entrance door were broken. There are no injuries, says the press center of the Plovdiv Appeals Office.

Police teams arrived at the scene. It was established that 44 men and women participated in the violation of public order, three of whom were instigators and initiators. Procedural and investigative actions are being carried out in the case.

When asked by a BTA reporter from the Harmanli District Prosecutor’s Office, they emphasized that the conflict was completely interpersonal and that there could be no ethnic opposition between people of different nationalities in the center.
