“We weighed the full potential of the health system against the coronavirus. Today we provide another 81 million BGN for the implementation of additional measures in the fight against COVID-19. There is already a unified medical action protocol, we have included GPs But the most important thing is that people continue to protect themselves. ”This was stated by Prime Minister Boyko Borissov during the extraordinary online meeting of the government.

It was granted funding of up to BGN 65,000,000, which allows hospital care medical institutions to provide treatment to coronavirus patients in conditions of increased morbidity, as well as for the timely diagnosis of the population with symptoms of coronavirus infection in the territory. the country, the government press service reported.

The remaining funds up to BGN 81 million under the additional measures announced yesterday by Health Minister Kostadin Angelov will be provided by the National Health Insurance Fund reserve. Up to BGN 6 million have been allocated for the establishment of COVID zones in the diagnostic and consulting centers and BGN 10 million for the financing of the GPs of their activity in the conditions of the epidemic emergency situation during the months November and December 2020.

“There is money, it is insured! Starting today I want a complete review of the medical care to be provided to Bulgarian patients. To work at full capacity,” Prime Minister Borissov told ministers. Prime Minister Borissov also demanded that the Health Minister provide the opportunity to donate blood plasma not only in Sofia, but also in the country, from patients who have suffered COVID-19, because this is a way to help new patients.

Estimates show that through the budget of the National Health Insurance Fund, at the expense of funds from the operational reserve, it will be guaranteed that, as of November 1, each general practitioner receives BGN 1,000 for the follow-up of citizens with COVID-19. The objective is thus to motivate family doctors to monitor, prescribe therapies and monitor the health of citizens.

General practitioners will monitor the status of patients in the COVID system on a daily basis and will inform them in a visit or by phone about the steps they need to take to treat them. Research references will be assigned electronically. General practitioners may request rapid antigen tests for the timely diagnosis of patients in the presence of certain symptoms, which will be discussed during the negotiations for the signing of an annex to the National Framework Agreement.

Minister Borissov: At this stage a total blockade is not expected

Another measure that will be introduced is the establishment of COVID zones both in some of the capital’s DCCs and in those of the country’s largest cities. It is expected that about 10 DCC centers in the territory of Sofia and about 40 in the country will participate in this process.

The designated teams that will work in the COVID zones, i.e. a team of a doctor, a nurse, two laboratory assistants for diagnostic and imaging exams, a nurse, a technician, will receive an additional 1,000 BGN on top of their salaries. Apart from that, for each patient, the team will receive 10 BGN for examination and diagnosis. Citizens in need of hospital treatment will be transferred from the CSMP to the corresponding medical institution. General practitioners will follow patients needing home treatment as before.

Starting today, the so-called “Green Corridors” for senior shopping. Clinics and GPs participate in the fight against the pandemic. In a few days, COVID areas should be detected. Large hospitals will also need to be urgently reorganized and new beds opened.

During the day it is expected to be clear how the school year continues, especially for older students. Under the current order, distance education for high school students is valid only until Thursday.
