A private hospital in Burgas wants BGN 700 from the patients to treat them with COVID-19, BTV reported. Madzhurov Hospital confirms that such a practice exists.

According to the financial manager of the medical institution Yordanka Hristova, the 1,200 BGN allocated by the health insurance fund under the coronavirus clinical route does not cover the costs. She believes that the state should give at least 3,000 BGN.

In Burgas and the district, 398 beds have been discovered for those infected by coronavirus and 127 are in private hospitals. According to the director of RHI-Burgas, Dr. Georgi Pazderov, each patient has the right to choose whether to pay more for their treatment. “If someone does not want to pay more, of course we have free beds in other hospitals. You have the right to choose, you have the right to say:” No, I do not want in this private hospital! “Says Pazderov.

Prior to BTV, the president of the association of private hospitals, Krassimir Grudev, noted that this was the first time he had heard of such a practice and that there was no information that money would be sought from people infected with coronavirus elsewhere. He promised to check it out.

Nobody takes money anywhere, not even a legal user fee, I have checked everything. I am categorically against this. The trail has not been paid for, in some cases less than BGN 3,000, remdesivir is expensive, it should be considered, but COVID patients should not pay for it, ”said Grudev.

According to him, all private hospitals that have conditions now accept COVID-19 patients.
