The 32-year-old victim is not Bulgarian

Romanian authorities have identified the woman who was killed and her body stuffed in a suitcase and set on fire along a road in the Giurgiu district of southern Romania, local media reported, citing sources.

The shocking crime became known last Friday, when a truck driver noticed a fire on the road and called 112. Other drivers recorded videos with their mobile phones, reports BTA.

Detectives found that the girl’s body was 90 percent burned. His hands were tied with wire and he is believed to have died of a blow to the head.

Romanian media published a photo of the woman, whose identity the authorities were trying to establish. They also appeared versions that the victim may be a foreigner, including a Bulgarian.

The regional newspaper Giurgiuvanul reported today, citing sources, that the identity of the victim had been established. She is a 32-year-old woman from Ilfov county, in southern Romania.
