The positive news for the Bulgarian club was the return of Claudiu Kesheru as a starter. The Romanian scorer leads the Eagles attack against the English, from the first minute. Genchev organized the chosen ones into a 4-3-3 scheme. Behind Kesheru were Cowley, Yankov and Manu, and the box in defense of Iliev was built by Ikoko, Terziev, Nedyalkov and Verdon. Defensive midfielders started Stefan Badji and Anise Abel, and Kiril Despodov was not in the group.

José Mourinho placed his team at 4-3-3. Joe Hart is at the door, with Matt Doherty, Toby Alderweireld, Eric Dyer and Ben Davis standing in front of him. The middle trio consisted of Musa Sissoko, Lo Celso and Harry Winx, while Gareth Bale, Harry Kane and Lucas Moura had to create problems for the Bulgarian defense. It was a £ 300 match for England captain Harry Kane in the history of the North London team.

The England team created the first great danger of the match after just 80 seconds of play. Harry Winx passed the rainbow by Gareth Bale. He went back to the wing for Moura, who kicked the ball and put Harry Kane behind the Ludogorets defense. The striker tried to technically pass Plamen Iliev, but he loosely sent the ball over the crossbar. In the sixth minute Kane shot Plamen Iliev’s goal from 20 meters, but the ball bounced off Iliev’s left post.
In the ninth minute Bale fired at Ludogorets’ goal, but Plamen Iliev conceded and killed on a corner kick, from which Toby Alderweireld headed the ball after a header. In the 12th minute Gareth Bale crossed hard from the left, and Terziev could not score well and the ball went to Moura. He fired and Terziev settled into a corner. The first goal of the game came from him. Moura’s center from the corner kick, and Harry Kane gets up and shoots with his head from close range. Iliev tried to kill but missed and the ball flew towards his door.
Within seconds of minute 20, the “spurs” made two mistakes. First, Lo Celso shoots technically with his left foot, but from the side. Iliev was sent off, but sent the ball to Moura’s feet. The Brazilian shot hard, but his experience flew out of the Bulgarian goalkeeper’s door.
In the 23rd minute Ludogorets had serious penalty claims. Cowley crossed from a corner and Harry Kane hit his head, but in the hand of his partner Eric Dyer. The team and the headquarters of the “eagles” had violent complaints, but judge Jovic did not respect the demands of the Bulgarian team. Two minutes later, the London guests may have scored a second goal after Matt Doherty fired from three meters, but Plamen Iliev fired over his door with one hand. In the 28th, Tottenham also wanted a penalty. Lucas Moura entered Ludogorets’ penalty area, but Verdon and Ikoko put pressure on him and the Brazilian fell. Replays showed that there was no rape and Moura received long medical treatment.

In the 32nd minute the guests scored a second goal. Harry Kane found himself on the right in the “eagles” penalty area and saved on the ground to the left he found Moura, who was behind the hosts’ defense and scored a second goal with his left foot close – 0 : 2.
The Eagles reacted immediately and in the 34th minute they were able to reduce their liabilities. Kesheru shot hard from the arc of the penalty area, and the ball bounced off Alderweireld’s body and came quite close to Hart’s side post. Four minutes later, Doherty crossed to Bale’s right. He turned his head to parallel Harry Kane, but Iliev was careful and intervened. Seconds later, the Bulgarian national team guard intervened again after a strong blow with the right foot of the Tottenham captain Kane.
At half-time Genchev decided to take out Elvis Manu, and in his place came Bernard Tekpetei. This immediately affected Ludogorets’ right flank and in the 50th minute came a goal for the Bulgarians. Tekpetei stormed from the right inward and struck with his left foot, but the ball bounced off Dyer’s foot, and behind him was Kesheru, who smashed Hart through with his left foot – 1: 2.
In the 52nd Harry Winksnameri with a strong pass in the penalty area from the “eagles” Carlos Vinicius. He was exposed and missed a third goal from close range. Three minutes later, Matt Doherty stormed to the right of Ludogorets’ field and swung the ball to the left for Lo Celso. He shot with his left foot, but away from the Bulgarian goal.
In the 61st minute, Mourinho replaced Moura with Hyun-min Son and this gave its positive aspects to the guests after just one minute of play. Son broke down the left and passed a parallel pass to Giovanni Lo Celso, who scored the third goal for the guests of the English capital. Four minutes later, Bergwein almost did not quite follow in Son’s footsteps and did not make his presence seriously in the game, but his shot was deflected through the home gate.
After 69 minutes of play, Yankov found a precise pass down the left and went to Tottenham’s gate. In front of him was Alderweireld, who was eliminated by a technical move to the right, but the youngster’s subsequent shot was very weak and Hart caught calmly. A moment later, Cowley Oliveira attempted a shot from the left, but his shot was also inaccurate.
In the 73rd minute, Ludogorets came close to scoring the second goal. Dominic Yankov combined perfectly with Cowley in front of Hart’s door, and the Brazilian playmaker made a strong kick with his right foot, but the Englishman saved. After 80 minutes of play, defender Verdon made a decisive block after a shot from Carlos Vinicius and the game continued after a touch.
In the last minutes the match ended, and the guests combined, while the hosts could not oppose much and thus, logically, the match ended in victory for the English.
Thus, Ludogorets remains last in the ranking of his group and the continuation to the elimination phase seems a chimera. The Eagles have zero points and will have to take three wins in the remaining games to maintain their chances of coming out. Tottenham, on the other hand, already have six points. Later today, LASK and Antwerp will meet in the match against each other to determine who will be in a better position for the next matches.
