Two days after Election Day in the United States, American voters still don’t know who will be president for the next four years: incumbent Donald Trump or Democratic candidate Joe Biden. However, with every hour that passed, Biden’s chances of victory increased, causing great nervousness on the enemy camp and attempts to move the battle to court. The headquarters of both presidential candidates gathered armies of lawyers.
The focus is on the continuous counting of votes in four stateswho will decide the outcome of the dramatic clash: Arizona (which has 11 electoral votes), Nevada (6), Georgia (16) and Pennsylvania (20). In the first two tracks is Biden, and in the second, Trump, whose advantage in these two states is constantly melting. Two more states are unsolved: North Carolina (16) and Alaska (3), which appear to have been won by Trump.
For now Biden leads the electoral race in the Electoral College with 253 assured votes to Trump’s 213, and there are several winning options given the situation in the remaining states, while the president’s situation is much more complicated. As is known, to win the elections, one of the two candidates must collect at least 270 votes in the Electoral College cast by the individual states in proportion to their population.
With his victories yesterday in the faltering states of Wisconsin and Michigan, Biden is currently close to winning 270 votes in the Electoral College to send him to the White House. For this, it will be enough to maintain its leadership in Arizona (about 69 thousand votes) and in Nevada (increased to about 12 thousand votes).
Biden ranks second in a steadily declining and surmountable gap with Trump in Pennsylvania (115,000 votes as of 8 p.m. Thursday) and Georgia (just 14,000 votes at the same time). In both states, there are still many uncounted ballots that could change leadership. And the trend to vote for Biden is growing, because most of the remaining ballots that were mailed out are for him. As of yesterday, for example, it had already lost 500,000 votes to Trump’s leadership in Pennsylvania. The picture in Georgia is even more dynamic.
If Biden manages to win Pennsylvania with his 20 electoral votes, it’s over. If Pennsylvania stays with Trump, it will need three of the other states. There are more winning combinations for Biden. In fact, one victory in every two of the other four states (and without Pennsylvania) is enough for him to win against Trump.
Trump does not seem willing to accept defeat and he was even quick to declare victory in states where the results were still unclear. That’s what happened in Michigan, a state that eventually passed Biden, with a significant advantage. This is extremely unusual behavior for a presidential candidate, DPA notes.
Trump: stop counting
On Thursday, Donald Trump again demanded that the election vote counting be stopped, the Associated Press reported.
The unusual statement by the current US President in support of stopping the counting of legally cast votes was made in a post on Twitter this morning, which only read: “Stop counting!”
Elections are organized by individual state, county, and local governments. Trump’s public statements have no effect on the country’s vote count.
So far, the nationwide vote counting has been conducted effectively and without evidence of any crime, despite Trump’s public outcry, the Associated Press reported.
The president made the statement at a time when his campaign has filed lawsuits in several states to try to stop the vote count due to lack of transparency. However, the Trump campaign was hopeful that vote counting would continue. Arizona it could lead to surpassing Biden’s leadership in the state.
After his first Twitter post today, the president posted a second there again: “No vote received after Election Day will be counted.”.
Twitter later flagged the president’s second post as controversial and possibly misleading.
As early as Wednesday, Trump’s headquarters filed complaints against the counting of votes in Michigan, Pennsylvania and Georgia.
Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson described the Trump team’s lawsuit as “frivolous” and noted that the vote count in the state was “efficient, transparent, safe and methodical”.
On Thursday, the Trump campaign announced that it intends to challenge alleged violations in court during the vote. Nevada on the basis that at least 10,000 people who no longer live there voted in the state.
“Political theater”

Trump and Biden supporters started protests

The current presidential election has broken records. Participation is 66.9% – the highest in the last 120 years in the United States.
