Had contact with a person infected with COVID-19
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ekaterina Zaharieva went into isolation after Vice Minister Petko Doikov tested positive for COVID-19 with a rapid test. The results of his PCR test are awaited, announced the Foreign Ministry.
Zaharieva has no complaints and is in good general condition, continuing to perform her official duties. Although the result of a rapid test is not grounds for quarantine, the Deputy Prime Minister was immediately isolated until Deputy Minister Doikov’s results were confirmed.
More than 4,000 new cases and a record number died from COVID-19 per day
A SRZI team immediately tested Minister Zaharieva with a rapid test and the result was negative. The result of your PCR test is also expected at the end of the day today.
As Mr. Doikov participated in the delegation of Deputy Prime Minister Zaharieva in Berlin for the tripartite meeting in Berlin on Monday with the Republic of North Macedonia and the Federal Republic of Germany, the Foreign Ministry immediately notified the delegations of the other two countries through diplomatic channels.
Epidemiologist: It is possible that after 3 weeks there are 360 deaths with COVID-19 per day.
Members of the entire Bulgarian delegation, which was in Berlin, are also in quarantine.
The Foreign Ministry clarified that Deputy Prime Minister Zaharieva and the members of her delegation, as well as the crew of the special plane, were analyzed by PCR before departure and the results were all negative. Today, all the Minister’s equipment will be retested with rapid tests and PCR.
