A whale’s tail statue prevented a 10-meter subway train from falling off the rails in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
The driver was shocked but unharmed, there were no passengers on the train, BNT reported.
The art installation, casually called “Saved from a Whale’s Tail,” was not intended as a means of transportation, but fortunately managed to support the weight.
There have been calls on social media for him to get off the train as an addition to the train, but city officials and the metro administration have dismissed the idea as a safety risk. Engineers are now considering a safe way to remove a composition from a work of art.
At the De Akkers metro station in Spijkenisse, a metro passed through the buffer. The train hangs about 8 meters above the ground and rests on a work of art. Research is under way on how the subway can be saved. The subway driver has been taken to the hospital for a check-up. pic.twitter.com/rZFaNljw5y
