Casualty attack and many wounded near a synagogue in Vienna. Several shots were heard near Schwedenplatz, local media reported. The shooting in the city center was officially announced by the police on Twitter.

According to the media, the attacker exploded with an explosive belt. Before that, however, a life-threatening police officer was injured, as well as several other people. Austrian journalist Thomas Meyer, referring to the Interior Ministry, announced that one person was killed in the shooting.

It is believed that the attacker had accomplices who managed to escape. A large-scale police operation is underway in the center of the Austrian capital. According to the Interior Ministry, one of the attackers was arrested.
